Back Home from Floirda..............................Views: 116

I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful time I had with Laura. It just went by too fast though I have already booked my flight to return in January. Which that is the usual time that I always went to Florida. Though, I had been told just how hot it was there in the summers, it was exhausting, but that was when we went to the Beach. Though, we were only there 2 times for about 90 minutes each, for there was so much I wanted to do for her to finish up her apartment. I was so impressed upon how organized she is in her beutiful apartment, but she had been shopping for a nice L-Shaped desk for all of her school books, so she had more than 30 totes of school books & reference material. So after looking everywhere within a 50 mile radius, the night before I left she found one that she really liked with a large hutch. Happy that I took my cordless screwdriver to help her, She is just amazing and will tackle projects that some men will not even attempt. We had such a great time. Though, I hate good-byes for I know that none of us ever know if we will see our loved ones again…...............
The entire time there I had no nausea, no pain not even an ache. How blessed I was. She is great medicine for me.
Good Wishes to ALL….........Patty

Patty, I am glad you had a great time in Florida with your daughter. Sorry I missed your birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR PATTY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
Better late than never, I guess.
Take care, my friend.
My love, thoughts and prayers are with you even when you don’t hear from me. Sometimes I can see well enough to type and sometimes I can’t. Haopefully this will improve in the coming months.
Hugs, Joyce

Dear Joyce,
Thank you so much for your well wishes and the Happy Birthday, it doesn’t matter at all that it is a bit belated for it is your your thought that matters. I do hope that your eyes do get better and your able to read better. Though, I do not have anywhere close to your problem, I had to begin wearing reading glasses or I cannot read a word, and to me that is aggravating. Though, I guess it is my age though my Onc told me that a great deal of it is the Gleevec that I take daily for the leukemia. And, I consider that a very small price to pay for being in remission. Now, I only pray that I stay in Remission. My daughter told me to let her know when my next bone marrow biopsy is so she can fly here and be with me but I could never interuppt her new & busy life. She is so sweet, but she is an amazing support when I do have one but I will just suck it up and deal with it myself. She loves USF but being in graduate school all of her classes are in the evening and that is when she is scheduled to work so she is going to get herself a day job though she will have to get off of work no later than 3:00 p.m. to allow herself to get to school. She is beginning her first book, which is a big passion of hers. She did receive her writing certificate along with her bachelors of arts degree. She can express herself with words so well. Though, she is presently working on a children’s book. She is so determined, I have no doubt she will succeed. While there, I brought back 3 books from her “fun reading”, which when I borrowed she told me,” these are easy reads I finished them all within a week”, stunned for I have much more time that she but she loves to read and cannot seem to get enough of it. And, she has the full time homework on top of it. She said that she has to have her “pleasure reading” also.
I was so happy to be able to go down and spend time with her. A few days before I left she told me on the phone that she was very lonely, which saddened me, but she has only been there a month, and I have no doubt that she will make friends in time. Right now she is just very focused on school, finishing up her apartment, and work. Though, she works at the same restaurant there as she did in St. Louis believe it or not she makes less than half the tips than she made in St. Louis which isn’t helping her situation. While there we went to the grocery store and I filled up her fridge & freezer, then I did buy her the desk and hutch that she wanted for her office. We went to a garden shop for she wanted to get some pretty flowers for the area just outside her front door and I loved looking at them for what you can plant in Fl vs IL is very different so I was able to get her some exotic plants and dress up her entry way for her.
ALso, we did take 2 hours out of Friday to go to the Theatre to see,” THE WOMEN”, which I highly recommend. Not one single man in the entire movie. Great cast, and we laughed throughout the entire movie. Indeed, a real “Chick FLick” that only females could relate to.
Jpyce, I do thinl about you often and when I don’t see a post, I always am concerned about you. We’ll have to pump up those prayers for your eyes to get better. These computers are certianly a great form of communication, but you do have to be able to see the screen. I hope that all od your family is well also,
Again, thanks for your thoughtful words,
HUGS,
Patty

Dear Patty; You are always so kind to others, especially your daughter. she must be one special gal. Who would have thought it would turn out so beautifully, for I remember one of your posts, how worried you were she was going. Now that you have had a chance to see where she lives, it gives you something to dream about, to realize she has a lovely spot to rest her head. And of course you will be able to be in Florida during a blah January. You know I have a friend who did all of this for her daughter and she felt so grateful to have a wonderful daughter who she could help. That is something special. I do not have kids, sadly so this is a special realtionship that means the world to you. I am happy to hear that your health is still good and that you had no symptoms of pain on your last journey. Let’s all pray for more good days ahead.
Weezie

Thanks Weezie for you amazingly kind words and your profound and insightful thoughts on my past posts. You certainly did hit the target when you said how much better I feel now that I have been to Laura’s new place in Florida and I don’t just like it, I love it. She continues to amaze me with her independence and you are so right, there is nothing that I wouldn’t do to always help her. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.
Patty
