I would be more than happy to share the news as I receive it what lies ahead. I will not be having a bone marrow transplant for I have been in the Natl Bone Marrow Registry since diagnosis and NO matches. My children were all tested at that same time, and once again they were no match. When you hear the word transplant you think of going in an OR & all that goes into that. Whereas, though a BMT is far riskier than any type of organ transplant for it deals with your immune system, it resembles a blood transfusion though you are in isolation due to the prep that has to be done to your body and it is just as intense after the transplant and that is the same for stem cells or bone marrow. The wonderful friends that I have had the pleasure of getting to know, sadly each one of them developed graft vs. host disease and did not survive their transplant.
I feel extremely blessed for when I was diagnosed, my children were only, 8, 10 & 15 years of age, and I was here to watch each one of them graduate and become the wonderful young adults they each one are. Thanks to each and everyone of you for your kindness & support. Please don’t think of this that I am throwing in the towel, far from it. This leukemia wants a fight, then it will have a big one from me!

Hi Patti,
Thanks for keeping us up to date in your battle. You are blessed as you understand the stark reality of your circumstance. Yet there is still life to be lived and joys and love to be shared.
Keep fighting and live every minute to the fullest.

God bless you!
Jacques

“Lord make me an instrument of Thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope, where there is darkness, light and where the is sadness, joy”
“Oh Divine Master, grant that I may no so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, and it is in pardoning, that we are pardoned and it is in dying, that we are born to eternal life.
— St. Francis of Assisi

Patty; It all sounds so technical and kind of scary. If this disease has any brains, it better hurry up and get moving elsewhere because it won’t want to deal with your power. Isn’t it wonderful you have 3 kids that have turned out to be everything that you hoped. I hope you are not feeling poorly but are up to your everyday tasks. This cancer has a way of sneaking around corners and undoing things it shouldn’t. I am praying for you always.
